Purchase fresh produce from local gardeners and farmers at the
Urban Garden Market each Saturday morning in
September, from 9 am till noon, at 1010 N. Bendix, across from
the entrance to LaSalle Square. Last Saturday’s opening of the Market
was a great success! If you are available to help at the market any
Saturday this month, or if you would like to become a part of the
planning process for a permanent farmers market on the west side of
South Bend, contact Donna Ring, ring.5@nd.edu., or leave a message at

The Tax Abatement Committee will meet an Friday,
September 12 at 5:30 pm at Carpenters Local 413, 315 N

The next meeting of the Sunshine Coalition (seeking
greater transparency in local government) will be held on
Thursday, September 25 in the Pokagon Room of the Main

The next meeting of the Inner City Task Force is
scheduled for Tuesday October 7, at 6 pm, at the West
Side Democratic and Civic Club, 617 S. Warren. Residents of
neighborhoods throughout the city will gather to focus on the issue of
vacant and abandoned housing in South Bend. For more information,
