Jan 31: South Bend Council holds public meeting on affirmative action.
The South Bend Common Council's Community and Economic Development Committee will hold a public meeting on Bill 86 – 10, a proposed revision of the City's Affirmative Action Ordinance.
The meeting will take place on Monday, January 31, 2011, from 5 – 6 PM,
in the Council's meeting room on the fourth floor of the County City
Building, 227 W. Jefferson Blvd. South Bend. Please attend if you can.

UNITY GARDEN's Mitch Yaciw will lead a series of classes, "How to Grow a Vegetable Garden" each Thursday at 4 pm in the Cafe area of the LaSalle Branch Library on Ardmore Trail.

This special series of classes is free to all participants!  We encourage you to bring the whole family.
Classes will also be held at the Potawatami Conservatories, 2105 Mishawaka Ave., on Saturday mornings at 10 am (from January 22 – March 5).

Feb 11: Lunch with the League
On the second Friday of each month, at the South Bend Chocolate Factory at 122 S. Michigan St. at noon (come as early as 11:30 to purchase lunch), the League of Women Voters of the South Bend Area sponsors "LUNCH WITH THE LEAGUE."  These programs are free and open to the public.

On February 11th, the guest speaker will be Tricia Gorden, Director, Training and Community Resources Area 2 Agency on Aging/REAL Services, Inc.
