Sixth Annual Community Forum on Economic Development:
WHAT PRIORITIES SHOULD GUIDE LOCAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT?
Residents of St. Joseph County testify about the economic needs of our community

On Saturday, March 26, the Sixth Annual Forum on Economic Development will be held at Indiana University South Bend's Wiekamp Hall, from 9 AM to 3 PM.  During the morning session, residents of St. Joseph County will testify about the effects of economic development on their jobs, economic opportunities, neighborhoods, and quality of life.

Afternoon workshops will focus on programs and actions that address these economic needs.  They will be conducted by some of the local organizations and coalitions that are joining the Community Forum for Economic Development in sponsoring this event.

As our cities and towns prepare for the 2011 local election, concerns about the economic vitality of our community are central to public discussion and debate.  This program provides an opportunity for current and future local elected officials to hear the voices of the people whose lives are profoundly affected by their decisions.
