Aug 19: CFED and NAACP present Indiana Moral Mondays
"Indiana has been ground zero in privatization of public resources, voter ID laws, assaults on reproductive rights, lax environmental regulations and dismantling unions." – Truth Out
When are we going to stand together and say NO MORE!
The Community Forum for Economic Development and the NAACP are co-hosting a meeting to discuss bringing the Moral Mondays Movement to Indiana. Moral Mondays is a multi-issue, multiracial movement anchored in five critical issues:
- Education
- Economic Development
- Health
- Voter's Rights
- Criminal Justice
The goal is to bring groups working on seemingly different issues together to support each other and work towards the larger moral issue of equity and justice for all. The movement began in North Carolina and this year brought thousands of people together to protest in the state house.
Moral Mondays comes to Indiana!
This meeting will be an opportunity to learn more about how different organizations can come together to organize our constituents to affect change at the state legislative level. Most immediately Indiana Moral Mondays is bringing the leader of the movement, Rev. William Barber II of the NAACP, to Indianapolis on September 19th and 20th for workshops and a march on the capital building.

Also, please take a moment to follow the link and read the article "The Ultra-Right Wing State that Nobody Mentions". It is a beautiful concentration of the legislative practices right here in Indiana and demonstrates the urgency with which we need to address the changes happening in our state that are destroying public education, breaking unions, and limiting voter and reproductive rights.
